There are three distinct variations of Velociraptor which were cloned by InGen, not counting sexual dimorphism seen within each individual version. However, despite the surface level variations, each sub-species remains relatively similiar in terms of physical attributes. Each species is roughly 6 feet tall…

First Look at Classic Jurassic Park Toys Coming from Mattel!

The Mattel Jurassic World toys do not hit shelves until April 16th, however that hasn’t stopped some early items from slipping through the cracks!

While the majority of this years toy line was revealed at New York Toy Fair, that did not included exclusive assortments. One of the most anticipated lines is the ‘Jurassic World: Legacy Collection‘, which are toys based upon the first three Jurassic Park films! This line will be highly sought out by collectors, and it is exclusive to Target in the United States (availability worldwide may vary).

Only one item has shown up in stores so far: the Extreme Chompin’ Tyrannosaurus Rex – however the back of its packaging reveals Robert Muldoon and Alan Grant from Jurassic Park, both packed with a Compsognathus from The Lost Wolrd! Also from The Lost World is the male juvenile Tyrannosaurus Rex, and the Pachycephalosaurus.

The Jurassic World Facts App has revealed other dinosaurs coming to the Legacy Collection this year as well: from Jurassic Park 3 there is a male Velociraptor, Pteranodon, and a large Spinosaurus (the exact size of the toy is unknown). Additionally, from The Lost World there is the male tiger striped Velociraptor. It remains unclear if there will be dinosaurs from the first Jurassic Park (other than the large T. rex), but the line also includes Ellie Sattler and Ian Malcolm.

Check out the rest of the pictures below, and stay tuned for more toy announcements in the future, as both Walmart and Toys R Us* have exclusive toys.

*The fate of the Toys R Us toys currently remains unknown, as the company is closing every store in the US.

    1. That impossible, the original molds are long gone and even if they could use them all the kenner assets are in Hasbro’s hands. Mattel can only make new models.

      1. I miss those rubber models.. Wish they create at least a rubber TRex.. They look so much better.. Why are the new JW toys always in hard plastic?

  1. im in canada target kinda screwed us now the legacy collection is there exclusive fml how are we supposed to get these without getting gouged by scalpers on amazon and ebay πŸ™

    1. I’m in Canada as well, but I’m around Guelph,ON so it’s only 2 hours to the border. I’ll have to make a trip for these!

    2. Yeah it’s complete BULLSh17 that Australia gets screwed by this sort of thing. Scalpers on ebay are usually our only hope. Even trying to get JW Lego was like storming the FARKING trenches in WW2.

    3. Yeah, that fuckin sucks foe people in the UK, with their only target in LONDON. At least that’s what i’ve seen.

      1. Go to Smyths Toys, they have several stores throughout the UK. They stock a lot of the legacy dinosaurs and the Jeep however not the human figures

  2. I am so happy that they are making Original trilogy toys. That is something i miss. And such good quality too! But Why does Target have to close down in the US? WHY!?!?!?!?!?!!! I love Target. And now where am I supposed to get Legacy series toys? PLEASE tell me they will be on Amazon. If not I am going to dehydrate myself by crying.

          1. Everyone loved Toys R Us. The only thing we DIDN’T love was the prices.

But yeah. I’m gonna miss them too.

          2. It says that there are Toys R Us exclusive “Destructasaurus” How will they do that with all the toys r us closing?

  3. Yes!!!!!! Yes!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t wait!!! I gotta get that extreme chomping t rex!!!!πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

  4. These look magnificent! The Jurassic park Collection YouTube channel reviews the extreme chomping rex but interestingly enough in that video the packaging was fallen kingdom styled but here it’s classic looking, and omg if they are making a line for the first three films I would be VERY interested in seeing the sculpts for the spinosaurus as well as the buck and doe t.rexes from the Lost world!!

  5. I hope the TRU exclusives will still be available, since other countries will not be affected by the liquidation. I know people will disagree with me,especially those affected. Although they will be collector’s items soon

  6. I hope with Toys R Us closing it won’t effect Mattels big plans for this complete toy line.
We need this Spinosaurus. The only other decent one goes for hundreds on eBay. I’d really like to see the new Dimetrodon and brand new Monolophosaurus too.

    * Also, am I the only one who wants to see a Mattel version Indominus Rex? Maybe they think it would be overkill by now but to me it just feels left out. They are making 6 Dilophosaurus, how many Gallimimus and Raptors? Would 1 more I-Rex really be so bad? And to scale… they’re missing out.

      1. I’m on board too. I almost spent $80 on a crappy one. Then I saw the new Mattel line. I’m saving my bucks.

    1. So far they have made a translucent mini version of the Indominus so don’t give up on a bigger one coming up in the future.

    2. I believe Mattel said at toy fair that they plan to make an Indominus next year, they left it out this year as they didn’t want to take the spotlight away from the Indoraptor.

  7. The Pachy doesn’t look very TLW-esque to me, and the male Rex feels more film-inspired than film canon… the large Rex looks decent but could use a stronger paintjob.

Honestly, so far the Legacy Collection looks a bit disappointing imo

  8. Rad. You know, I never had the chance of getting a tiger striped Raptor when I was a kid. My allowance was not high enough to buy it. I just gawk at it on its shelf at a distance. 8(

  9. Oh man!! I’m buying up so much of the legacy collection!!! These figures are going to be fun to collect, along with anything that has to do with the original film!

  10. I really hope these get released overseas in Europe/UK
something tells me they will most likely be an Argos or Smyths exclusive if they do, if they don’t then it’ll be a case of hunting online to find them at a decent non scalper price which is always annoying.
However I do believe they will be widely available further down the line as either a part of a later wave of the mane line or repainted for a sub series.

    1. This looks better. The Thrash n’ Throw has the ugly body splitting to allow for the shaking. It’s more off-putting than this one.

  11. I hope they come out with that JP3 Spinosaurus for the legacy collection, I have the original large Spinosaurus but I’d love to have another one that looks cool.
