Velociraptor (Film Universe)
There are three distinct variations of Velociraptor which were cloned by InGen, not counting sexual dimorphism seen within each individual version. However, despite the surface level variations, each sub-species remains relatively similiar in terms of physical attributes. Each species is roughly 6 feet tall…

Jurassic World 3 to Release June 11th, 2021 – Emily Carmichael Joins as Writer!

Hold on to your butts – Jurassic World 3 has a release date, and a new face joining the writing team!

Jurassic World 3 will release June 11th, 2021! Pacific Rim Uprising writer Emily Carmichael joins Colin Trevorrow as a writer for Jurassic World 3, working from a story by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly. No details have been shared about who is directing, though we suspect Colin Trevorrow may return.

Emily Carmichael is no stranger to Amblin Entertainment, as she was brought on to write and direct an upcoming action-adventure titled Powerhouse – further, she recently rewrote ‘The Black Hole’ for Disney. Colin Trevorrow had this to say about her joining the team (via Variety):

“It’s important to this franchise that we welcome new creative voices to keep our storytelling fresh and alive,” says Trevorrow. “I’m thrilled with the tension and beauty J.A. has brought to ‘Fallen Kingdom,’ and I know Emily will add another layer of emotion to the concluding chapter of our trilogy.”

Emily Carmichael fell onto Amblins radar from work on projects like her short film Stryka, which you can watch below:

Jurassic World 2 is directed by JA Bayona, and release June 22nd, 2018.

Who do you want to direct the 6th Jurassic Park film, and where would you like the story to go? Sound off in the comments below, and as always, stay tuned for everything Jurassic!

  1. Cool, but I gotta admit. Colins direction of JW was way too lighthearted. If he returns, I hope it doesn’t feel like JW.

  2. Trevorrow is actually writing it with newcomer Erica Carmichael. He did describe this as “the end of the end.” And this puts a final stamp on the series as a whole.

    1. To be clear, he meant ‘the end of the end’ as he knew where THIS trilogy would end even when writing Jurassic World, not the end of the franchise. People misconstrued that quote. I’m sure Jurassic will continue!

      1. Personally, I’d like to see this finish the series, but if cool spin-off films could be used that would be cool. One thing that has irritated me about the new films is NO mention of Isla Sorna. Is it still a nature preserve? What happened there?

          1. I actually wonder if they will try to round up the dinosaurs in the sixth film and bring them back to the second island.

        1. You can’t say things like that about just one movie in a trilogy, Jurassic Park had never mentioned Sorna, and right now Sorna isn’t important to the plot.

We haven’t seen Fallen Kingdom, and from leaked plot rumors Claire is trying to get the dinosaurs to sorna thats the whole plan.

        2. I personally think Claire and the DPG want to transfer Nublar’s dinosaurs to Sorna. Wheatley and the other hunters will probably turn out to work for InGen, hence why the dino’s are at the Lockwood Estate to be auctioned.

          1. I really hope this is true. I’m all for ignoring the events of JP3 but the Lost World is important to the series as a whole as it introduced the fictional world to the fact that Dinosaurs were alive again. By re-introducing Isla Sorna allows for future spinoff ideas to go back to the island of dinosaurs concept which could be freshened up again 8 or so years down the line.

      1. I take issue with some of the guy’s Youtube videos. My own head canon is far superior in a lot of ways. But oh well, his voice is the one that’s heard.

    1. Why? The first two films are called Jurassic World, and Jurassic Park is dead. it’s over. maybe if they made a prequel, but this is going to be another JW and I’m not disappointed.

      1. The new films are still a continuation of the Jurassic Park franchise. I feel too many people don’t recognize JW as a sequel at this point. Everyone thinks JW is a spin off now. I personally wish they just gave the new films their own titles without using “world”. If they called the new film “Fallen Kingdom: Jurassic park” I honestly think that would have been better. But that’s just me.

  3. I feel kind of sad now because this revival of the Jurassic franchise is coming and going. But I’m going to say what I said on Twitter that I hope to one day really look back and say to myself “what a life, and what a legacy of movies you are carrying for your future generations”. Bring it on, 2021!

  4. Oh great… A female writer. It’ll be full of love scenes and no explanation for why anything is happening. There will be a sense of powerlessness for the lead and plenty of high-emotional/sentimental scenes. The over-arching plot will focus purely on oppression and struggling to overcome it.

Female writers suck. Name a female writer worth her salt. J.K Rowling? Stephanie Meyer? Anne Rice? LOL! Try again.

    1. The reason why females are they way there are is because society treats them inferior even though they’re in no position to be treated such. Just like you’re doing. Don’t judge a movie because of there being a female writer on the writing TEAM, 4 years before it comes out, before a director has been announced, and even before the movie prior to it has come out! Seriously, man.

    2. Ben, get out of here. Your comments just suck… How discrimating to say that all female writers can’t write because they are female. Can you write better because you are a man? Do it yourself than! Lets see what kind of trash movie you come up with!

      1. How does that old school yard retort go..? Ah yes. Make me.
I’m not a writer, so I’m off the hook. Women claim a lot but rarely prove much at all. But hey, in this new dawn of feminism and SJW nonsense, they have the perfect opportunity to prove me wrong! Only… Well, they’re STILL not really doing anything but whining are they?

  5. 4 years?! I’m like happy that this allows enough time to get a great film, but that’s like forever!!! Nothing compared to the wait for Jurassic World, though. XD

  6. Thats Sad that’s it’s the end of the trilogy.
I hope it doesn’t take so long to revamp it again. I would love to see a Jurassic world prequel. I want them to continue filming in Hawaii so I can visit all the set locations.

  7. All I want is the “Dinosaur Man”.

    And a certain paleobotanist,

    Then I can die Happy.

Once more unto the Primeval breach, my friends…

    Once More.

    1. Yes. Please bring back the Dinosaur man and the paleo botanist. And get back the mathematician as well. The big 3 in the same movie again.

  8. I’m glad and thankful this time there was a plan to structure and develop the trilogy with an identity and dates in mind, unlike the first trilogy. Ok, the first time there were two books to look up to and the third installment sort of looked detached from the previous two films, but the feeling that they wanted to tell a whole story from beginning to end since they started Jurassic World makes me happy. Plus, I’m glad I’m watching Fallen Kingdom knowing there is already a conclusion to look up to. No more fourteen years to wait between films!

    1. The third was fine by me, it was the second, despite how much it shaped my childhood, that never quite fit. JP3 went off of TLW and fit into what that movie created very nicely as a sort of ‘further adventures of…’ tale. But when put next to the original film, TLW never really made much sense.

Even the second novel seemed forced… And it was.

  9. The best trilogies are the ones where you reach the final film with a few reservations because this or that plot line was never tied up, or just seemed to float in limbo, only to finally see the whole thing come together and make sense by the credits of the third.

I hope this happens with JW.

    1. I am rather good at satire. It’s also hard to tell if I’m actually being serious or not. But no, even if the thought crossed their mind, I would only clash with those guys and get kicked out.

  10. June 11 2021????? 28 years after the original!!!!!!!!! I kept thinking I should’ve seen it in theaters at that time!!!!!!! Anyway I hope they will keep using the same animatronics from the original trilogy like they didwith the upcoming one!!!!! Coming out on my birthday!!!!!!!!
