There are three distinct variations of Velociraptor which were cloned by InGen, not counting sexual dimorphism seen within each individual version. However, despite the surface level variations, each sub-species remains relatively similiar in terms of physical attributes. Each species is roughly 6 feet tall…

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom WRAPS Filming!

On the 23rd February, the sequel to Jurassic World began filming in the UK. In late June the production headed to the island of Oahu in Hawaii and filmed at various locations including the Kualoa Ranch and the He’eia Kea harbor.

Now, thanks to a tweet by director J.A. Bayona, we have learned that Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has officially wrapped filming!

The past few months have been very exciting and while we all hopefully know very little about the plot, the set photos alone show us that this feels and looks like a Jurassic Park movie, especially Claire’s costume in the latest photos. Very Sarah Harding.

Producer Frank Marshall also acknowledged the final day of filming by tweeted a picture from the set with the quote: “Last group of animatronic dinos ready for the final day of shooting, congrats to all on wrapping FALLEN KINGDOM!”

The photo showcases the return of a location from Jurassic World and some plush toy dinosaurs left over from the incident at the park in 2015.

The last filming day was at Halona Beach and some set photos show cast and crew on this beautiful beach cove (potential spoiler warning).

And further posts confirm that the main cast members have indeed wrapped filming. There is always the chance that the second unit will continue to film plate shots, establishing shots, inserts etc.

How excited are you? The fifth Jurassic Park movie is “in the can” so to speak, and now Bayona and his editor will begin to piece together the movie. While there were rumours of a teaser trailer “soon”, we don’t expect to see one for quite some time.

Huge congratulations to the cast and crew that put this movie together and made it happen! It’s a very exciting time for the franchise!

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is set for release on June 22nd 2018 in the USA, with an earlier release date in the UK on June 8th.

  1. This is REALLY exciting!!! But it seems a little early, since Jurassic World wrapped in August. However…I think we then got a trailer in October/November. So…does that mean we’ll get a trailer in September/October along with an official summary, maybe? Anyways, again, can’t wait for the first official footage and stills, as well as summaries and those other websites Universal is doing for the movie to launch. And of course, June 22, 2018 for the movie!!! 🙂

    1. Also…when will there be an ew episode of the InGeneral Podcast out? It’s been quite a while, and with all of the news and hype that there’s been in June/July so far…I’ve been dying to hear y’all’s thoughts (in audio form) on it all.

  2. Hello Jack, Chris, Alex, Josh, Jurassic Outpost in general.

I have been a JO visitor for years. I have been commenting on the news constantly. And now I need to know if you guys, and all all friends, from all over the world, who visit this website, can help us, Brazilian fans, voice our dissatisfaction with Fallen Kingdom’s translation in Brazil. Could you guys help us raise a racket big enough to come to Universal Studios’s knowledge?

Yes, it’s just a film title; nothing anywhere near world famine or wars, or deadly diseases. I don’t even know if it’s possible to change a film title once it’s been registered and published and let loose in the world. The thing is I just want to make sure Universal knows Brazilian fans are dissatisfied with the “worst idea in the history of bad ideas” for a film title translation ever! It’s ridiculous, it’s so un-Jurassic Park. I mean, I loved Fallen Kingdom (in English), but the participle form of “to fall”, functioning as an adjective in that phrase does sound ugly in Portuguese. It wouldn’t work. So they wisely changed it to “threatened” which is a fine and acceptable change. But then they found the need to create a whole, entire and disfunctional clause (in the sense that, even though it’s grammatically correct, it doesn’t work well as a subtitle for a film title at all!): here in Brazil the film title will be Jurassic World: the Kingdom is Threatened. Why, God, why? When they could have simply gone with Threatened Kingdom? They did this with The Lost World (that remained equal to The Lost World in Portuguese, instead of the atrocious The World is Lost, which is the mechanism they used this time, for you to have an idea).

What I’m trying to say is: no, that won’t impact on our lives. There are really serious problems afflicting the world and complaining about a film title is ridiculous compared to that. As I said, I don’t even know if they could change the translation at this point of the stage. At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter. If anything, it should serve as a “lesson” for them to be more careful next time around (since we know there have been plans for a Jurassic World 3). Yes, it’s their money and their film: they make the films but we, fans, MAKE them, if you know what I mean. And we, Brazilian fans, are appalled at the translation they came up with.

I’ve already tweeted Frank Marshall asking for his “help”. Like I said, I would like them to at least know what a horrible, horrible idea they had (if they really can’t change it at this point). And now I ask you, guys: could you help us raise a racket here?

    Thanks!

    1. Take a look at the bright side, at least it’s not “The Kingdom Has Fallen And It Can’t Get Back Up”. 😉

    2. I don’t care if they call it “Jurassic Village: The Gang is in Trouble”; I will be the first in line to watch it. 🙂
