There are three distinct variations of Velociraptor which were cloned by InGen, not counting sexual dimorphism seen within each individual version. However, despite the surface level variations, each sub-species remains relatively similiar in terms of physical attributes. Each species is roughly 6 feet tall…

Malcolm, Animatronics and Characters Revealed in New Extended First Look & Trailer Teaser for Fallen Kingdom!

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom goes where Jurassic has never gone before! The latest tease has arrived today which features brand new footage showcasing a variety of scenes in the movie, and gives us an incredibly exciting look behind the scenes! Watch below:

Where to begin? Firstly, wow! I’ve been cautious not to get too excited for the Jurassic World sequel but this video has brought out my inner child – and he loves it! I sat motionless for three minutes while I ingested this detailed look at Fallen Kingdom, and now I’m truly excited!

It looks as though J.A. Bayona has truly captured that “Jurassic” feel that I personally felt was missing from Jurassic World. The cinematography, the animatronics, the Malcolm! From set pieces to costumes, it feels like all of the elements are in place for this to be a true Jurassic Park movie.

Let’s dig in!

We open on a shot of Lockwood Manor – high in the hills in California lives Benjamin Lockwood (James Cromwell). As many predicted, the first photo released from Fallen Kingdom takes place inside this mansion and features Maisie – a young girl played by Brooke Norbury. We see a number of scenes take place inside this location with a multitude of characters.

Speaking of characters, we see a number of the cast members in this video including Geraldine Chaplin, Daniella Pineda, Toby Jones, Ted Levine and of course, Jeff Goldblum!

We see Dr. Ian Malcolm in a court room, very likely testifying against Jurassic World. This is the first time we have seen Malcolm since 1997’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and it’s mesmerizing watching him again.

There is so much to see in this video including a look at Neal Scanlan’s animatronic work which is looking spectacular! The T-Rex seen in yesterday’s tease is shown in this video revealing the level of detail that has gone into it, along with a number of new species:

This movie is big; the stakes have been raised. There are a number of elements at play here, a wealth of new characters being thrown into the mix and a number of locations on offer, including the return to Isla Nublar for the last time.

Our very own Asees breaks down the extended look at Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in a new video below:

How excited are you after watching today’s tease? There is a lot in this one video for us to ingest, and to think that tomorrow will bring a FULL TRAILER for the movie well, this really is a great time to be a fan.

Watch it again!

  1. Feeling very positive. Ian Malcolm is back , new dinosaurs are being introduced and it looks like a radically different story for a JP movie. I’m intrigued to know what possessed Owen and Clare to take a small child with them to a dinosaur infested island with an erupting volcano though.

      1. I wonder if Wu and his company send in a dinosaur to kill Lockwood. Definitely looks like we get some dinosaurs on the mainland action.

        1. Dinosaur assassins? Huh. Not very practical (dinosaurs are notoriously messy killers, especially in these movies), but an interesting concept nonetheless.

  2. I nearly teared up at the animatronics and the major throw backs! The music omg….omg…omg. I can’t control my excitement anymore.🤗

    1. I know. The animatronics are AMAZING! I love it so much when they use practical effects instead of CGI, because then I know that there’s something actually there in front of the camera. Something real.

  3. They’ve given me the utmost confidence in this movie 197 days in advance. They’re really going all out with dinosaurs, dinosaurs, and more dinosaurs! I can’t wait for it to come out! Also, props to whoever made the score for the featurette, it gives an epic Hans Zimmer vibe to the Jurassic Theme.

  4. That’s a JP Tour Vehicle in the scenes starting around the 1:52 mark. You can tell with the slant on the side mirror in the one shot. My guess is somewhat of a reference to the poster with the Raptor and her nest.

Also, the shot where Owen is walking upstream with the camera on the right feels very Lost World to me.

    1. That vehicle is the same Ford explorer from the tree scene in the original JP. The one Alan Grant and co. we’re climbing down and away from before it landed over them on the ground.

  5. I really love all that they showed but why the hell do they have to blow up the Island with a volcano!!?? I really hope we get a prequel like when masrani buys InGen and the Island and first opens the park. They better go all in with scenes with the original park. I’d love to see the Jurassic Park Gates again

  6. I won’t lie, I’ve watched this three or four times in a row by now, and I’m still shaking, I’m so excited! Glad to see best girl Blue, both in CG and animatronic form. Universal, you had my money as soon as Fallen Kingdom was announced, but now I’m going to go see this as many times as my wallet will allow.

And yes, Ian, you’re talking about dinosaurs again, you magnificent bastard you.

  7. Hi Guys, Im a die hard Jurassic Park super fan and its fair to say that I thought Jurassic World was slightly underwhelming but OMG Fallen Kingdom looks amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, It looks like a lot of thought has gone into this film with bits of the original books getting a look in, I CANT WAIT 🦖🦕🌋

  8. You mentioned Lockwood Manor is high in the hills of California. Did I miss something or has this not been mentioned before? The location of Lockwood Manor will probably say a lot about where the the 6th film will take place.

  9. When asked to testify against InGen after the Jurassic World incident, of course Dr. Malcolm’s response to the court is “I’m here again, uh, talking about dinosaurs?” like he’s so sick of InGen’s crap at this point XD

  10. I am more hyped for this mivie then i have ever been before, even more than for jurassic park+sequels.
I really dont like the baryonyx design but other then that it looks liek life found a way and gave us the greatest movie ever: Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom

    1. I was kinda thinking the same. I definitely thought that about the erupting volcano as well. Like that moment should have been kept behind the curtain until seeing it onscreen in the theater.

  11. Now I am finally wondering, is this trailer supposed to come in the beginning of the game or during half-time? I know Star Wars has done half time with their past trailers, but I also know that JW had their superbowl trailer right in the beginning.

    1. The score won’t be done for months yet. As for your opinions on the music used here…you’re the only one ive seen who doesn’t like it.

      Sounds awesome to me!

      1. I have to agree here. This kind of rhythm-based heavy percussion Zimmer-music is a plague to me and does not flatter the orchestral Jurassic Park theme at all. It’s a thing that producers and the audience like nowadays, but it’s a trend that I personally don’t enjoy.

    2. As long as they use the real orchestra, and not some cheap computer made synth music,im all game,Im certain that Giacchino will deliver, the real deal, and JP theme will definitely be in there as he has stated before ,you cant make a jp movie without the music and elements of williams in this franchise.. I agreed that the trailer music is not good, and sounds cheap ,but then again the score is not finished yet,and is probably now being scripted and written, edited and recorded as we speak.

    1. To be fair, it was a toy for JW. I get it though and also really dislike the over-the-top fans whose imaginations need just a LIIIIIITTLE less sugar fuelling them…

  12. Such a great time to be a fan indeed! I’ve already started my checklist to make sure I get everything merchandise-wise (well, as much as I can without resorting to theft). And I wont miss out on the Lego sets this time. It was such a shame for JW when all the pirates went buying up the sets so they could copy them or sell them for massive amounts. There ended up being none left on the shelves for fans.

  13. I’m extremely excited!!! 6 more months… That will be quite a while… And I Can’t wait!
What do you think will be the money shot on the last part of the JWFK trailer?

If I remember, JW had Owen riding motorcycle with the bunch of velociraptors..
I hope, for this one, they will save the last shot for Dr. Ian Malcolm reminding us about his CHAOS THEORY…

I’m sure this gonna be awesome!!

  14. This movie – fortunately, and thanks to JA Bayona – is doing EVERYTHING that JW failed to do, and much, MUCH more.

This has TLW vibes all over it, and I’m glad that JA has a true sense of what should make a JP film. I’m excited about the quieter scenes, just like TLW had (ie, Malcolm vs Ludlow in the mansion), and I was always disappointed that the boardroom sequence never made the final cut. Looks like the court scene will make up for that 🙂

JW really failed on so many levels, it’s like JPIII – something fun to watch – but a slap in the face to the essence and quality and characters of the franchise (IMO of course)

This movie is going to be subtle and huge at the same time, pretty amazing.

  15. I was 5 in 1993 when the original ‘Jurassic Park’ came out. I was and remains my absolute favourite. I’ve followed all subsequent films with growing unease. The Lost World (1997) was passable but you could tell Spielberg’s heart wasn’t in it. Jurassic Park III (2001) was a fairly enjoyable ‘B-movie’ if you switched off enough to appreciate it. I had high hopes for ‘Jurassic World’ (2015) but to me it came off as a rather over-enthused school-boys crude tribute to the 1993 film and was generally a mess.
Fallen Kingdom however, from what I’ve seen of it, gives me some hope that for the first time in 25 years a Jurassic franchise film will re-capture something of the essence of its origin without falling back into self-conscious fan-boy homage, which I felt JW spoon-fed you far too much and far too unsubtlely (“It’s the *green button*, when you see my name *push it*….REMEMBER, LIKE IN THE FIRST FILM?!)

  16. The only thing that matters to me now is: we must break records tonight. Show ’em the strength JP community has. This is shaping up to be the best sequel to date and it must reflect in numbers.

Obviously, opinions are personal and I respect everyone’s. To me, the one and only stain in the franchise so far is the third movie. That’s the one that should be obliterated from existence. All honor should be given to JW for allowing me the thrill of seeing a functional park. It’s what my 12-year-old 1993 self always wanted to see. I literally went back to childhood in 2015. To me, that was enough. Now I’m deeply excited for FK. My only – only – concern is that it’s too much like TLW: let’s go to the island and rescue the animals. Period. I know the motivation in different now. But just seeing a T-rex lying in a cage triggered this in my brain: it’s the same movie. Hope I’m wrong.
