Daniella Pineda and Justice Smith to Reprise Fallen Kingdom Roles in Jurassic World 3!

The cast of the third Jurassic World film continues to amass its star-studded cast of new and returning actors, adding two familiar names to its roster. Revealed first by Collider, Daniella Pineda and Justice Smith have joined the upcoming Jurassic sequel due to begin filming early 2020.

Daniella Pineda (Zia Rodriguez) and Justice Smith (Franklin Webb) first appeared in 2018’s ‘Fallen Kingdom’, as key members of the Dinosaur Protection Group, run by Bryce Dallas Howard’s character Claire Dearing. While we’re uncertain where the plot of the sixth Jurassic Park sequel will go, the recent short film ‘Battle at Big Rock’ show’s us that dinosaurs are becoming commonplace and a nuisance in some locations. The return of the DPG members signals the likely continued venture of that groups dinosaur rights and conservation lobbying, all while dealing with a rapidly evolving world where dinosaurs are free on US soil.

Justice Smith most recently starred in the live-action Pokemon movie ‘Detective Pikachu’, while Daniella Pineda is part of Netflix’s upcoming live-action ‘Cowboy Bebop’ series due to resume filming next year. They’re joining Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jeff Goldblum, Mamoudou Athie, DeWanda Wise, BD Wong, Isabella Sermon, and Chris Pratt in what promises to be the largest Jurassic ensemble yet, uniting characters from across the eras all while introducing new faces.

Jurassic World 3 is well into pre-production at London’s Pinewood Studios, with a script written by Colin Trevorrow and Emily Carmichael, with Trevorrow directing. Much like the cast, the behind the scenes teams compromise of old and new players: ILM will be returning to bring the dinosaurs to life, collaborating with an all-new animatronics team headed by John Nolan.

Jurassic World 3 will release June 11th, 2021.

  1. God no!!

Justice smith is not that bad, but he isn’t that funny as he thinks he is.

    But Pineda!!??

I had high hopes with the return of Goldblum, Neil and Dern, but this is confirmation, that everybody needs to let this franchise die out.

  2. Hm. Cool, I guess?? I was saying a couple months ago the cast was looking pretty white, but that definitely has been fixed ha.
I don’t think their characters added much to Fallen Kingdom, but I appreciate the continuity of the decision. Maybe the writing could make good use of them somehow.

Whatever the case, this movie is going to have a LOT going on…. Let’s hope it’s actually feasible and coherent.

        1. If you’d be angry if I said that a movie with nothing but black people is “too black” would you agree with me or would you be calling me a racist prick?

          1. A Jurassic Park movie that is entirely black people? Yes I would agree that is ALSO inappropriate. Y’all can paint whatever color you want of me, but Im not preaching. I just appreciate diversity. Lol that’s basically it. And especially in broad ranged, worldly movies such as this. I’m not TRYING to be PC I just appreciate accuracy in reflecting what our world ACTUALLY looks like. Sue me? Lol if you prefer your movies all white, just go ahead and say it! 🙂

        2. the ¨diversity´ argument is now unfortunatelly becoming the new racism. and polotical correctnes is going too far lately. it´s even ruining historical movies such Mary queen of the scotts.. asian and black women in the royal court in 15 century Britain? sure…

          1. There’s certain times and places where you will only encounter certain cultures and appearances. You don’t fight Jaws in the Sahara desert… Same applies with people.

  3. What’s been pleasing me beyond the shadow of a doubt in this new trilogy is that, if anything, there is the intent to tell a whole, interconected story. I don’t feel the same way about the first trilogy, with the exception of the first two movies. The third one was an “aside” to me, even though Sattler and, most especially, Grant, were in it.

Mistakes and slip-ups apart, Trevorrow has set himself to tell an arc of a story, beginning with JW and ending with whatever title JW3 is going to be given. And what’s best of all: the presence of Wu, Grant, Malcolm and Sattler point to a full connection between the two trilogies. This is noteworthy and honorable.

  4. So at this point the film will be set during Thanksgiving? I mean, there’s so many actors getting “lead roles” in this imminent garbage fire, they must all just be sitting around a table carving up a bird…

Also, those two are even WORSE than Owen and Claire! And that is saying a LOT!

    1. For someone who always talks trash about the new movies/content I really don’t understand why you keep commenting on these articles. I too am a little worried about JW3, but I’m not going to say it’s going to suck when we really don’t know anything about it.

      1. @Guyon He does it because, according to him, the rest of us suffer from “cognitive dissonance” because some of us don’t scream bloody murder at the JW movies, and how we’re all a bunch of brain-dead idiots and how his childhood is ruined and yadda yadda yadda. At least, that’s his justification.

As for the characters, I personally didn’t mind Franklin too much. Let’s face it, we’d all scream the same way at the sight of a huge maw of sharp teeth barreling down at us. But then, I seem to be more sympathetic than most, so it could just be me.

Or maybe I just have cognitive dissonance or whatever over-the-top accusations Ben likes to spew.

        1. The comments are beginning to change, even the articles are more critical, pointing out the flaws, the problems…
People are starting to wake up and see that this trilogy really isn’t all it’s been cracked up to be.

They wont be looked back on fondly once it’s all over.

          1. I’m not denying that they’re not as good as the original. I still enjoy them immensely, but it’s a simple fact that they’re of an inferior quality. I’ve pretty much moved on from the franchise as a whole, although that’s mostly because I shift the focus of my interests from time to time to keep things fresh.

But ATTITUDE is key here. The cognitive dissonance comment is now the second time I’ve seen you accuse people who like these movies of being mentally ill, and to put it lightly, that’s NOT a good way to debate people at all. The fact that you went back to that line of attack shows that you haven’t learned from the “autistic screeching” comment or however it was worded a while back.

Perhaps I’m overreacting to that comment. As somebody who has actual mental challenges, I tend to take that kind of stuff more seriously than most.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go somewhere else and do something that gives me more happiness than what I can find here. If you truly are as miserable with the new films as you say you are, I suggest you do the same.

  5. Why o why would they bring back the lesbian ‘whatever her role was’ and the boy-screaming-like-a-girl ‘whatever his role was’, I honestly dont even remember why they were in the movie in the first place ? I mean where is Trevorrow going with this, 164 (semi) leads with each one getting 3 lines to say ?
I have zero expectations for the upcoming JW movie, they lost me with the “dinosaurs in the basement of the old man’s large house and he never saw or heard anything !” and dr Wu looking like a Bond villain… sigh

    1. If I were a lesbian, I’d actually be sad that the only way my kind gets inclusivity, is if it’s forced and ham-fisted into a plot that only gets weakened as a result.

Feminism is nowhere near as bad for anyone as it is for women. And the LGBT are only making people that want to be accepted, more segregated.

  6. Gotta tick those PC boxes! Modern art suffers terribly for it and society has been clear as day that they don’t want it, but the woke brigade marches on!

  7. to all of the people who say, “OH THIS IS SO HORRIBLE, JURASSIC PARK IS DEADDDDDD!!!!!!!”, Just shut up and think, just because you didn’t like a movie or a character dosen’t mean Jurassic Park is dead. Don’t Start another Fandom Civil War, I already have to deal with the Star Wars fandom. I think this is great. we get to see more connection to these movies. Franklin and Zia were pretty funny and unique, so I’m so happy to see them again.

  8. Irregardless of we the die hard fans feel, a lot of people do in fact like these new installments. To me they are mediocre… some parts and ideas I like and others not so much. I personally think the female actor in question “overacts” and doesn’t sound natural… much like the stupid asian chick in the last jedi…. terrible character choice and bad actor… the worst part of her acting to me was during the part where she is taking care of the raptor on the boat…. her acting embarrassed me lol the way she speaks is stupid… and the other guy is ok but completely unnecessary. I thought the worst part of the film was the dinosaurs in the mantion and the gas…. very bad idea…. but overall i enjoyed the concept of them getting out into the real world and breeding beyond control… if they ditch the other stuff and now really focus on the animals taking over, it would remind me of the first novel… I really wish Steven Speilberg would stop being old and lazy and just direct one again… the backstory to the first two films I really enjoyed… even with his changes… I feel their are less “little” details in the direction of these new movies…. the charcter play isn’t as in depth or solid…. it was like they tried to remake “Roland Tembo” but more evil…. the character of Roland Tembo is one of my favorites… he has depth… unlike these films… best part of Fallen Kingdom for me was when we actually see his arm get ripped off… although in real life it would have been way more brutal…

  9. I’m not against the return of these two actors, as the other characters (with Allan Grant (Sam Neill), Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), Ian Malcom (Jeff Goldblum)) of the trilogy “Jurassic Park” (played by the same actors) alongside those of “Jurassic World” will also be back in Jurassic World 3: Tim Murphy (Joseph Mazzello), Alex Murphy (Ariana Richards), Sarah Harding (Julianne Moore), Kelly Malcom (Vanessa Lee Chester) , Nick Van Owen (Vince Vaughn), Billy Brennan (Alessandro Nivola), perhaps Charlie the Ellie Sattler’s son seen in Jurassic Park 3, and Barry (Omar Sy) of Jurassic World.

  10. Did I miss anything? Let’s see- Ben sadly devolving back into his usual self, someone claiming to be a ‘true fan’ even though that concept doesn’t exist, COURTY.. *eye rolls*, only a couple truly intelligent and coherent replies, many unnecessary overreactions….
    Nope. Sadly all normal here.

  11. is no one going to acknowledge Jurassic World Evolution: Return to Jurassic Park? i really recommend you to watch BestInSlot’s coverage of the new dlc. Really exciting stuff!!

  12. HAHAHA! I win guys!

I got just what I wanted! And along with Daniella and Justice, I now find out Isabella Sermon is back for certain too! Great!

Hey Colin and the gang, if this bunch is complaining, then you know you are doing everything right!
