There are three distinct variations of Velociraptor which were cloned by InGen, not counting sexual dimorphism seen within each individual version. However, despite the surface level variations, each sub-species remains relatively similiar in terms of physical attributes. Each species is roughly 6 feet tall…

Jake Johnson and Omar Sy returning for Jurassic World 3

Lowery Cruthers and Barry Sembène are back! Collider has exclusively learned and reported that both Jake Johnson and Omar Sy will be reprising their roles in 2021’s Jurassic World 3. The report has since been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter and director Colin Trevorrow himself!

Jake Johnson and Omar Sy, who co-starred in 2015’s Jurassic World, are set to reprise their roles in Colin Trevorrow‘s Jurassic World 3, Collider has exclusively learned.

We have not seen Jake Johnson’s Lowery or Omar Sy’s Barry since the collapse of the Jurassic World theme park in 2015, so it will be interesting to see what they have been up to during the six year span between on screen appearances. Will Blue remember her trainer who worked alongside Owen Grady? Does Lowery still have his collection of toy dinosaurs and poor taste t-shirts?

The cast for Jurassic World 3, which has a yet to be announced official title, is shaping up to have a Jurassic sized cast of returning stars and characters. In addition to Jake Johnson and Omar Sy returning, the 6th Jurassic film will also see the return of Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt, BD Wong, Danielle Pineda, Justice Smith, Isabella Sermon and original Jurassic Park trilogy stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum. Joining the Jurassic film franchise family for the first time are Mamoudou Athie and DeWanda Wise.

  1. Wait a minute, what is the plot of this movie? Jurassic World: Endgame? How in the world are they going to involve all these characters?

  2. At this rate we’ll see Vince Vaughn and Julianne Moore signed up before the end of shooting. I mean if this is a send off, who better to send it off than the woman who literally had a Rex chasing her through San Diego.
Loving classic characters coming back for the final act.

  3. Yes Yes, very excited to see these 2 both return, felt they were missing from Fallen Kingdom, would have been a great addition to the previous installment. Now Lowery can assist Claire with her technical difficulties at the Dinosaur Protection Group far better than Franklin ever could, while Barry can assist Owen riding dirt-bikes chasing Blue’s raptor offspring throughout the mainland. Zia will be busy babysitting little cloned Maisie, while they make friends with the return of Lex and Tim. Grant will finally reunite with Ellie after her husband gets eaten by Rexy. Next Trevorrow will announce the return of Sarah Harding and Nick Van Owen together to assist me, the great Ian Malcolm, with my chaos politics delegating against the efforts of the notorious Doctor Wu. We’re looking at a new era, indeed! Ooooh Aaaah then there’s running and screaming! Hammond would be proud!

  5. They are great characters of course, but adding them too still wont save this new trilogy, which has already failed. Too many plot issues and terrible decisions in the last two films have already damaged this one. I realize this third entry is the film Trevorrow wanted to make from the start, but he’s ruined it before it even begins with at least the last film. Fallen Kingdom, the Volcanoe, the disappearance of Sorna… These things have damaged the films beyond repair.

    1. I still find it fascinating that after everything the franchise has done to displease you, you’re still here talking about it. I’m not straight up telling you to get out, but seriously…why do you continue to invite disappointment on yourself by staying involved with Jurassic World?

Oh, yeah, I forgot. The “why anything” spiel. Or was that a different Ben who went all nihilistic on everybody? This site needs to stop having so many Bens, it’s like you all went through the cloning presentation in the original Jurassic Park.

      1. I’m the Ben that sticks around here foe the OG Jurassic Park news. Every now and then an article will pop up revealing something I wouldn’t otherwise have heard about.
I’m still going to take my three year old to the cinema to see the new JW film. He absolutely loves it. I like seeing Dinosaurs on screen. But there’s nothing else for anyone in them. Especially any adult with a lick of standards.

        1. @Ben “I’m the Ben that sticks around here foe the OG Jurassic Park news. Every now and then an article will pop up revealing something I wouldn’t otherwise have heard about.”

Understandable. Truth be told, I’ve been going back to the original trilogy a lot more in recent months, and I’ve re-read the original novel twice over in this year alone. All things considered, I do like classic Jurassic a lot more than World. The latter is just kinda “meh” to me. I don’t dislike it, but I’ll take the classic stuff any day of the week.

“there’s nothing else for anyone in them. Especially any adult with a lick of standards.”

With all due respect, I think you’re being a bit too harsh on the people who do actually like the Jurassic World movies, however few of them there may be out there. Just because somebody likes Jurassic World–or any installment of any given franchise, for that matter–doesn’t make them an idiot or a sucker or a “fake fan” (as if such a concept actually exists) or anything like that. They just have their own reasons for liking them. And that’s perfectly okay. Just because we don’t like a certain movie that somebody else does doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re fools for liking what they like.

I mean, the fact that there are people who like these movies at all is in stark contradiction to what you say, because obviously these people find something to get out of them. For me it’s the music, particularly Fallen Kingdom’s. I honestly loved FK’s music, and I think it’s the best Jurassic soundtrack since John Williams’ scores for JP and TLW. I love listening to it during my down time. And yes, I know music is comparatively minor thing in regards to an entire movie, but it’s still SOMETHING that I can enjoy.

          1. How dare you say music is a minor thing? George Lucas said about Star Wars that music and sound is half the experience. Without John Williams, many favorite franchises wouldn’t be half as good as they are. I agree though, the JW music is great. Love the JW theme, and the way he uses just enough, but not too much Williams music is perfect. Giacchino is pretty much filling in for Williams in like 3 franchises at this point

          2. @truejpfan Giacchino’s great at almost everything he does. Funny enough, his first big soundtrack was the one for Sega’s “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” game, and if I recall correctly, Spielberg himself said he was “the next John Williams”.

Also, please don’t take the “minor” thing the wrong way. Of course the music helps make the experience. I really put so much emphasis on that because Ben seems to be more focused on the actual stories of the movies than the overall spectacle.

But yeah, I’m glad we can at least agree that the music is great. I actually found Fallen Kingdom’s score more memorable than Jurassic World’s, save for the Indominus’s theme.

          3. Oh, people can like them. But OBJECTIVELY, they are bad films. I once knew a kid who liked to eat Dog biscuits… Doesn’t mean they’re good or should be eaten by people.

          4. Yeah, i remember him doing the Lost World thing. The Spielberg bit is news to me though, cool. Chasing the Dragons is great too, and it took me far too long to notice that it was the JW theme at a different tempo

  6. I have no idea how they are going to include those characters and give them reasonable or significant screetime that affects the plot. There are so many characters already like Ellie, Alan, Ian… I would hate the movie a lot if they were glorified cameos like Ian Malcom was in Fallen Kingdom.

Are Zia and her screeming friend in JW3 btw?

    1. Apparently so.

I actually didn’t mind Franklin all that much, TBH. I mean, when you’re facing down a croc-faced predator with razor sharp teeth, I don’t blame people who’d scream.

  7. I loved both these characters in Jurassic World. I’m glad they are returning. But, I agree, they seem to be pulling an “Endgame”, and trying to bring back every character ever.

  8. I’m so happy that Allan Grant (Sam Neill), Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), Ian Malcom (Jeff Goldblum) and Barry (Omar Sy) will be back for Jurassic World 3. The other characters in the “Jurassic Park” trilogy (played by the same actors ) that I would like to see again are: Tim Murphy (Joseph Mazzello ), Alex Murphy (Ariana Richards), Sarah Harding (Julianne Moore), Kelly Malcom (Vanessa Lee Chester), Nick Van Owen (Vince Vaughn), Billy Brennan (Alessandro Nivola), and maybe Charlie Ellie Sattler’s son seen in Jurassic Park 3.

    1. We know. You’ve said this multiple times. And honestly we already have enough of the old cast returning.
Plus hell no to Vince Vaughn returning. That douche doesn’t deserve to be in the franchise.
Also after the asswhooping he got in JP3 Billy would likely stay far, far away from any dinosaur related activity. He probably has some form of PTSD after surviving his attack.

      1. I’m sorry, but maybe you and some of you have had enough of the old casting back, and you don’t want Nick Van Owen (Vince Vaughn) or Billy Brennan (Alessandro Nivola) to return. But some do not agree: What justifies that Nick Van Owen would not deserve to be in the franchise in view of his past experiences and his qualities? And for Billy Brennan, even if he probably has a form of PTSD after his experience on Isla Sorna, that does not mean who will necessarily be far even if he wanted to, the proof: as for Alan Grant and Ian Malcom who held so much not to go to Isla Sorna.

        1. Didn’t say I didn’t want Nick Van Owen back- just not Vince Vaughn.
Also didn’t say I didn’t want Billy to return- it just doesn’t make sense for him to. He got mauled nearly to death by pteranodons, he’s no superhero no one in this franchise is so he’d logically be staying far away.
Grant and Malcolm are only exceptions to returning because one was kidnapped and forced onto the island, the other mounted a rescue party to save his current gf.
Seriously tho the cast is full enough, there’s simply no reason to swell the ranks with more former characters. Plus there’s also a budget for the movie and I don’t think there’s enough to pay all those actors.
