There are three distinct variations of Velociraptor which were cloned by InGen, not counting sexual dimorphism seen within each individual version. However, despite the surface level variations, each sub-species remains relatively similiar in terms of physical attributes. Each species is roughly 6 feet tall…

Watch Sam Neill ‘Clam up’ When Asked If He Will Be in Jurassic World 3

Look, it’s probably the worst kept secret that Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum will be returning to tango with dinosaurs in Jurassic World 3. All the same, we can’t really be sure until it’s official.

Until then, here’s some more fuel for that fire:

In the clip above you can see Sam Neill sitting down with IMDB at Toronto 2019, being asked if he might return for Jurassic World 3. Unsurprisingly, he gives a non-answer. But his look says it all – not to mention last time he was asked directly, he had a less optimistic answer, suggesting he believed Grant to be dead.

Judging from the above, Neill no longer believes Dr. Grant to be long dead and forgotten. We certainly hope that isn’t the case.

Jurassic World 3 begins filming early next year, and is being written by Colin Trevorrow and Emily Carmichael. Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will return, and BD Wong and Isabella Sermon are also expected to reprise their roles. No word on who will be handling the practical dinosaur animatronics, though given Neal Scanlan’s departure we’re hopeful for Legacy Effects to finally be given the chance to shine with Jurassic Park just as Stan Winston Studios once did.

Are you excited for what seems to be the return of the classic Jurassic characters? Be sure to let us know in the comments!

  1. Yay! – Grant was and is still my favorite character. Hopefully, we can capture the ol’ Jurassic Park OG Character.

    A Dragon can dream!

  2. I want so much that there is in Jurassic World 3:
-The return of the old characters of the original Jurassic Park trilogy played by the same actors, alongside the new characters of the first 2 Jurassic World: Allan Grant (Sam Neill), Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern), Tim Murphy (Joseph Mazzello) Alex Murphy (Ariana Richards), Ian Malcom (Jeff Goldblum), Sarah Harding (Julianne Moore), Kelly Malcom (Vanessa Lee Chester), Nick Van Owen (Vince Vaughn), Billy Brennan (Alessandro Nivola), and maybe Charlie , Ellie Sattler’s son seen in JP3, and Barry (Omar Sy) of JW.
-Blue meeting Alan Grant where the latter, at first he distrusts her but later learns to trust her and ends up teaming with Blue (also with Barry) when the latter asks him for help, for example to save Owen Grady. Alan Grant could also use his “Raptor Resonance Chamber” seen in Jurassic Park 3, for communicate with Blue or for call her in case he is threatened by a predator or mischievous humans or other type of help.
-A meeting between Alan Grant (with or Ian Malcom) and Rexy/Roberta: There would be an exchange of glances between Grant and Rexy. Rexy recognizes Alan with the smell, while Grant recognizes Rexy with the scars caused by a velociraptor in Jurassic Park. At first Grant is scared, but reassures himself soon after remembering that it was this t-rex that saved him before. After a calm and respectful exchange of views, Rexy leaves calmly, leaving Alan reassured and happy.

    1. I would really hate that last point with Rexy and Grant. The dinosaurs acting too much like heroes instead of animals is my biggest gripe in the Jurassic World movies

    2. Read through your points again, carefully. Do you TRULY believe they aren’t super cheesy and super lame? Can you REALLY see Alan Grant “teaming” with a Velociraptor and using that resonance chamber from JP3 to “talk” to her as a good idea that wouldn’t totally ruin the film at all? Rexy and Grant having a “moment” like you describe… Believing Rexy “saved” them intentionally? Non of that makes you feel ashamed? At all??
How old are you? Do mum and dad know you’re on the internet again? You know it’s a dangerous place, right?

      1. Hey dude, I don’t like most of his ideas either but no one needs to be awful about it. you sound like they child to be honest, attacking him like that for just merely enjoying the films and coming up with idea’s he would like to see.

    3. First- this Avengers Endgame we don’t need everyone from the Jurassic franchise coming back, honestly after what the characters suffered through at the claws, teeth, and ferocity of the dinos would make them stay far far away from a second encounter.
Secondly- too much good feelings of ‘oh the dinosaurs talk to us and understand us’- NO. We need to go back to the horror roots and accept they are terrifying animals that only care about survival.
Thirdly- Ben I hate to admit I agreed with you- until you started the whole ‘how old are you’ rant. Take a chill pill.

  3. So even after the director clarified that the next film is the 6th film in the franchise, we are still calling it as part 3?

  4. Isabella Sermon and Emily Carmichael. Two names that make me go “yikes”. Really hoping this doesn’t fall into the same trap as Fallen Kingdom. I personally though Trevorrow did very well with directing the first film in the trilogy. The second insallment I found rather disappointing. Trevorrow himself while he isn’t the best writer, he certainly isn’t the worst. But the fact Emily Carmichael is helping along with the project makes me very woozy given how cheesy Pacific Rim: Uprising was. I do have hope that Colin will indeed make it feel more prehistoric again like the first Jurassic World. But, one who is bland at writing and the other who is terrible at writing really makes me drop my hopes. All I can really do at this point is to keep an open mind and have faith that they both have the potential to bring up something good.

  5. Doesn’t matter. The script will SUCK! Emily Carmichael is still the writer.

I have no hope for it, but hey, I just got back from IT: Chapter 2 and despite totally believing it would SUCK, actually walked out completely surprised at how perfect it was.

But still, Emily Carmichael… So that wont happen here.

    1. Emily was one of about a dozen writers on Pacific Rim 2, there is no way to pin that script on her. I am worried as we have no idea how she is as a writer, and it’s a gamble jurassic shouldn’t take at this point, but in no way do we know she’s not good.

  6. With socialization the dinos , like dogs , cats , even lions and tigers adapt to the environment they are in. Its believable to me completely. And why I love these movies.
