Velociraptor (Film Universe)
There are three distinct variations of Velociraptor which were cloned by InGen, not counting sexual dimorphism seen within each individual version. However, despite the surface level variations, each sub-species remains relatively similiar in terms of physical attributes. Each species is roughly 6 feet tall…

Dr Pepper Unveils Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom Collectible Cans and Reveals Full Indoraptor Design!

The Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom merchandise tie-ins keep roaring in!

When I visited New York Toy Fair I heard a rumor that the soda company Dr. Pepper had a large partnership with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and that the campaign would be launching soon. Allegedly, Dr. Pepper products would make a ‘subtle’ appearance within the film, and there would be a more aggressive co-branded marketing campaign with their food products this Spring. As Dr. Pepper cans were spotted in a recent video from the Dinosaur Protection Group, it was only inevitable products would show up in stores soon after.

Thanks to the Dr Pepper Reddit, we have a picture of the entire collectors can lineup!

The four dinosaurs expected to standout the most in Fallen Kingdom each have their own can: the Tyrannosaurus Rex, Velociraptor “Blue”, Stiggy the Stygimoloch (who is said to have a more heroic role), and the ‘villainous’ new hybrid the Indoraptor. Each can features unique background art, and a detailed and exciting render of one of the aforementioned dinosaur species.

This has given us our clearest look at the Indoraptor yet, which was previously teased during the Super Bowl trailer, and shown off fully in toy form. In the render above, he has a menacing quadrupedal prowl, with a similar gait of the maned wolf or a predatorial cat which looks quite intimidating and unique. While I prefer ‘real’ dinosaurs to hybrids, I’m quite excited to see more from the Indoraptor, and this excellent artwork has only made me more eager!

It’s currently unclear when the promotion fully kicks into gear, but products have already made their way on to store shelves and into homes:

    1. To add to that, I am so happy with the quadruped design. This is something Jurassic Park has never done before, and I really like it! It reminds me of a postosuchus, or some other prehistoric crocodile. Can’t wait for JW:FK.

And Ben If you say something negative, I swear I’ll sic blue on your fossilized butt.

  1. Adding a coloured strip to the Indoraptor is a bit tacky and uninspired. I get why they gave Blue one on JWorld- so she’s emphasised compared to then other raptors & given her unique identity- but here it seems unnecessary. I dig the all black design though.

    1. It’s supposed to be a play on Blue’s design. The opposite color on the spectrum from Blue’s stripe is the yellow-orange the Indoraptor has for it’s stripe.

  2. I’d never drink this poison, but I’ll keep an eye out for the cans on ebay. Dr. Pepper isn’t sold in stores around my neck of the woods.

  3. Kinda a tangent, but related since we’re talking food/drink: Anybody heard anything more about what Ferrero Rocher is doing for candy/Kinder Eggs or who got the Fast Food tie-in?

  4. OMG! I’m buying every can, twice, at least. Hopefully this will spawn more creative products for the Jurassic franchise, which I unabashedly follow through every film. A little bit of insight for curious Jurassic minds: the velociraptor species in the movie is actually not called Raptor. But they chose that because it sounded more cool than a Deinonychus dinosaur.
Also, an early American times football stadiums of North would serve hot Dr. Pepper with freshly squeezed lemon. I had that once at a restaurant in the mountains of North Carolina and it was surprisingly good.

    1. Okay, I was using voice to text for the Post above. So it should have translated: “.. in early American times” and “up north…”
What’s scarier? A dinosaur or technology? LOL

I was looking at the design of the indoraptor in some Legos, toys, and these cans for Fallen Kingdom. I felt that it was important for me to say that the Indoraptor is a color negative version of Blue, with the Gold stripe which is very reiniscient, tough obviously differently colored, of Blue’s stripe. (X-Files theme starts playing) I’m onto you Universal.

  6. bummed that caffeine free diet is not getting one cuz thats the one i usually get. and who drinks diet cherry?

  7. Are there any in pack type promotions available ..I am in WESTERN CANADA …have seen a couple of DR.PEPPER Cans plus Doritos…was hoping for a cereal box tie in .THANK YOU JAS

  8. I was able to collect all four, plus a bigger size can with Owen and blue. I had enough cans of Dr Pepper to last me the whole school year lol.
