Michael Giacchino Begins Scoring Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Jurassic World composer Michael Giacchino announced today that he has begun recording the music for Fallen Kingdom!

In a tweet that was accompanied by a photo taken inside the recording studio, the composer revealed the news to fans, which signifies that the film itself is very likely picture locked.

Michael Giacchino has previously composed the score for Jurassic World in 2015, and has a history of working with the franchise with credits that include video games Warpath: Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park.

With J.A. Bayona’s Jurassic World sequel, Fallen Kingdom looking like it’s adopting a slightly darker route than it’s predecessor, do you hope the music follows suit? Do you think we will be hearing more of a The Lost World: Jurassic Park inspired score for our second outing to Isla Nublar, this side of the millennium?

Only time will tell, so stay tuned to Jurassic Outpost for all the latest news and be sure to follow the man himself for hopefully more Fallen Kingdom teases.

  1. 3 months to go! Obviously, a musical genius! Just put in LOTS of the “Journey to the Island” theme as well as the JP theme!

    1. Yes, and maybe a solemn, sad rendition when Isla Nublar is burning, as a last farewell to the island!

Something along the lines of: “The Death of Cloud Island”,

      I don’t know, I’m throwing out ideas!

      But I agree!

  2. I agree with Jasper (minus the S-word, of course). Giacchino’s music for “The Lost World” is probably the best since John William’s music.

But am I the only one who finds it a little odd that they’re only doing the music now?

  3. I am HUGELY excited for this. this guy is the true successor to John Williams (although no one can top John Williams) i have his Jurassic world, Rogue One, the Incredibles, and Spider-Man: Homecoming scores.

  4. I hope Michael will be the man behind Jurassic World 3’s soundtrack in 2021!!
Plus – we need Warpath 2: Jurassic World (The Remastered)

      1. Keep in mind that Michael did the score for Jurassic World too. And in my opinion, the soundtrack ROCKED. It was fresh and new, while still calling to mind JP and TLW.

    1. Yes, I only listen to movie soundtracks also. I can’t stand any other types of music. Michael Giacchino is my favorite composer. He did the scores for The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Up, Inside Out, and Jurassic World.

    1. Unfortunately have been so busy recently that I cannot write as much as I used to, but hoping to spit some clean text down again soon!
